System Engineer

Job Description

- Design, implement, and manage data centre infrastructure including servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling systems.
- Monitor system performance, availability, and capacity to ensure 24/7 uptime.
- Implement and maintain high availability, backup, and disaster recovery strategies.
- Perform regular maintenance activities including patching, firmware updates, and hardware lifecycle management.
- Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to ensure data centre compliance with security policies and standards.
- Manage vendor relationships for hardware, software, and services.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure issues promptly.
- Lead or support data centre migration, expansion, or modernization projects.
- Maintain detailed documentation of infrastructure design, configurations, and standard operating procedures.
- Support audits and compliance efforts (e.g., ISO etc.).

Job Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3 to 5+ years of experience managing enterprise infrastructure or data center environments.
- Proficiency with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
- Familiar with Windows, Linux (RedHat) operating systems and systems hardening
- Knowledge of networking fundamentals (e.g., switching, routing, firewalls).
- Experience with enterprise storage systems (SAN, NAS).
- Familiarity with data centre power, UPS, and physical security systems.
- Experience with infrastructure monitoring and management tools (e.g., SolarWinds, vCenter).
- Experience with Nessus Vulnerabilities assessment software
- Excellent troubleshooting skill and documentation skills.
